Searching for treasures
Objavljeno: 7. julija 2016

Have you ever heard of people taking part in Erasmus+ exchanges and other projects? Going places and meeting new people with EU financial support. Sounds awesome (and it is), but there is usually a lot more to such project than just expanding your horizons. Preparation takes work and time.
That is why the first meeting for our upcoming project was back in January. We named it Treasures from a Backpack. In July participants from Slovenia are flying to Baku to join our Azerbaijani peers. Together we will be exploring the problems of underprivileged youth, especially young refugees. We will be using the method called Backpack journalism (hence the name). We will be filming, taking pictures and writing about what we discover to share our experience online.
In our meetings before the trip our group tried to learn few azerbaijani phrases and alphabet. It is a challenging language, so we didn’t learn much but we were quite successful learning about the culture and history of Azerbaijan. Among other things we found a rather interesting link between our two countries. A well known Azerbaijani war hero Mihajlo fought in Slovenia, which was news to us all.
We also prepared workshops other activities for our time with Azerbaijanis, including a special evening of slovenian culture with some delicious specialities. Our trip is almost ready and we are waiting for the best part of any Erasmus+ project: going places and meeting people.
